Become a Legacy
A Bequest contained in a will is one of the simplest and most flexible forms of gift planning. No document expresses a person’s appreciation of life more deliberately than their Will. Its language may be legal, its substance may be worldly goods, but it reflects the beliefs one would like to perpetuate. There are several types of bequests which should be considered by you and your estate planning advisor.
Gift of Securities enables you to make a substantial gift with a low original cost. When donating appreciated securities, you avoid capital gains tax and receive an income tax deduction equal to the full value of the gift.
Life Income Gifts allow you to make a present gift to the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami in return for lifetime income payments. There are several types of lifetime income plans, such as charitable remainder trusts, charitable annuity trusts, and lead trusts, that offer benefits that serve your financial and estate plans. These should be explored by you with your financial plan advisor.
Gifts of Life Insurance can play a very creative role in gift planning by enabling a donor to make a much larger charitable gift than thought possible.
Many employers have Matching Gift programs and will match a charitable contribution made by their employees. Find out if your employer offers a matching gift program and apply to have your gift to the Civic Chorale matched. Your gift may be doubled or tripled by your employer! Some companies will match gifts made by retirees and employee spouses.
Each person’s situation is unique. To choose a gift arrangement that achieves your financial and philanthropic goals and affords you full tax advantages, we encourage you to consult your legal and financial advisors.
A representative of the Civic Chorale of Greater Miami would be happy to meet with you and your advisors to discuss these and other ways of giving. For information about gift options and recognition, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
